Pro-lifer by Personal Experience
Friday, in my Introduction to Political Science class, we began talking about the issue of abortion. My professor said that women should lead the debate in abortion because men cannot possibly understand the issue, because it involves mainly a woman’s body. I made a sort of counter argument by stating that my father was adopted and he has enjoyed his life, and I enjoy my life. I see myself as a pro-lifer by personal experience. I think abortion is wrong, but understand that in certain situations it should be allowed, but not as a method of birth control.
Interesting exchange. As an aside, its sad that such a sensitive issue seems like it has to be handled in inevitably cause so much suffering and strife on either side. Law as a means of change in this case seems so barbed. Alternatively, I guess if law exists to protect anyone it is the least advantaged and most vulnerable.

I am a woman, a mother of four, and a Catholic and these factors may have affected my judgment. I am personally against abortion BUT in situations like rape and incest, I think abortion can be considered. And yes, definitely not for birth control.
Men can participate in debates about this issue because like the women, they are also affected, although not physically.
